Road Tripping Japan…

Spring graced us this morning. We were asleep when she stole in with the dawn and coaxed our first blooms and blossoms. In celebration of the change of season we have a three day weekend. No daylight savings, no adjusting of clocks, just the beautiful gift of a National holiday. As the sun was setting I spied my first plum tree in full bloom. An early spray of palest pink that proclaimed: "I am here!" to those of us who call the rooftop of Japan home.

This spreading of a new season to our corner of the world has once again awakened our wanderlust. Tomorrow morning we hit the road. The road food has been packed: raw carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, boiled eggs, cheese sandwiches, apples and bananas. The thermos has been scrubbed and is ready for fresh coffee in the early morning.

ManInCharge made the plans for our first adventure of this new season and so I will leave you in suspense of our plans. Yes we are chasing cherry blossoms, but more so, we are chasing our bliss and celebrating the blessings we have been given. On a technical note, we just finished reviewing the roads with Google Street View, the printer is humming with last minute directions and a new mix tape has been made. It's 10:40pm here in the future – well past the bedtime for teamCOTEY. One of the essential elements to our travels is our fresh mix tape for the season. Do you still make yourselves mixes? Or do you let your iPod do the choosing? ManInCharge and I are joyfully technologically illiterate and so still burn CDs {Tonight was the first time we ever managed to make an Album cover. Hello, iTunes does this for you? How GREAT!}. We lovingly choose and then barter for song rights. I think we might just have a winner this time around.

As a teaser for our adventures ahead I leave you with our newest playlist:
